Farewell chalet will be held from 15 to 17 november at Aloha Loyang Resorts.
Please meet 4pm at Pasir Ris Mrt control station on 15 November. Shuttle Bus will arrive at 4.15pm.

And here's the list of things to bring:

1.sleeping bag
2.three sets of clothes
3.undergarments (duh!) & towel
4.shampoo & soap.
5.toothbrush, toothpaste & facial foam etc.
6.any medication you may need.
7.ez-link card (in case)
8.at least $20 cash.
9.torchlight.
10.mahjong, cards, electronic games etc.
11. DVDs/VCDs to watch for movie screening.

(Please tag if there are other things to bring which i have left out!)

Activities will mainly be free & easy, except for two to three programs.

As this is already our farewell chalet, we encourage everyone to write cards for your close friends.
If you wish, you may even write for the whole class!

We really hope that this chalet can draw a happy ending of our two years together as a class.

HELLO PEOPLE :D

okay, so here's a few things we have to settle.

regarding the class movie outing which is supposed to be held on monday, it will not be an "official" class outing as there is the shanghai immersion briefing which will take around 2 hours (from what I heard). after monday, we will be busy with the Food&Fun Fair and also ElitDrama's filming (especially so for Cluster 2). thereafter, many will be leaving for china. when they come back, it is the farewell chalet already.

therefore, this outing has to be cancelled. however, those who can still make it and still want to watch deathnote on monday, you may inform shiyi (he needs to book the tickets) by the end of today (or latest tmrw 12nn). me shiyi chuming yihan (vivien?) will be going.

yup so thats all for the movie.

another thing is the food&fun fair. for this year, we will be doing games. the game 2c is doing is called THE WHEEL. it is something like the wheel of fortune, just except that it will be either fabulous rewards or punishments.

so the point is, we need people to come back on tuesday to help us get the wheel etc done. the food&fun fair is on wednesday, as we all know. if you can come back on tuesday from 9am to latest 3pm, please inform johanna or me by monday.

& anyway here's the list of materials we need (so far):
-10 sets of newspapers
-10 toilet rolls (LOL)
-a big cardboard box
-2 penknifes
-scissors
-2 packs of construction paper

Greetings. It is me again blabbering on a lovely Tuesday afternoon. Somehow I am
amazed by the way my Math teacher marks our papers. Every time she gives
them
out after marking, I anticipate with nervousness as to what grades I am
going to
get. The result is always not good. Well, I guess not just me
alone, a few
others too. Perhaps I did not study well, but most of my
classmates will agree
that her marking is simply ridiculous. Not that kind
of ridiculous. I just find
it funny that she marks us down for poor
presentation of answers everytime. In
any case, let me go into my main topic
for today:

In view of the
upcoming end of year examinations coming
up in 2 weeks time (mind you, that is
coming soon), I have kindly decided to
share with you my award-winning strategies for effective and clear
presentation of answers, These
strategies are not limited to its application
in the subject of Mathematics
only, but any subject that you can creatively
apply it to.

Below are a
few of my award-winning
strategies.

First of all, in any examination paper, you have to write your name and date and index number for identification purposes. This is also to allow biased markers to mark you down the moment they see your name, to vent their hidden frustration on you. And you know what? You will not be able to get back at them for this, since you do not know who will be marking your papers. Simply speaking, you cannot do anything about it. But nevertheless, the first strategy for an effective presentation of answers is: Write your name, index number and date in English, and in your mother tongue as well. Why? The obvious reason is so as to create a good start and pave the way for your upcoming answers. Furthermore, writing in your mother tongue above your english name may mislead the teachers and they might not catch you by your english name. You may thus be lucky and escape the ruthless slashing of the Great Red Pen. But to be on the safest side, if you have been offending teachers, not handing in your homework, playing pranks on teachers, lately, you better watch out. Here is an example of what I mean by writing in mother tongue:

Next, you must not use pens that have invisible ink, but pens with dark blue or black only.

Third, you may find it beneficial to both you and your marker if you highlight your final answers.

Next, you should use one page for one answer.

Yes, even a simple answer such as 'Yes' for question 4.

It is mandatory to learn all your stuff by heart and have your textbook knowledge at your fingertips, ready to Finger of Death the exam paper.

Alright, I have come to the end of my award-winning strategies for effective presentation of answers, part of a series of "A Tactical Approach to Your Examinations". I sincerely hope you appreciate these tips and make use of them during your end of year examinations! Email me the good news when you have taken back your exam scripts for checking :P. And now, its time for me to bitch again.

I seriously hate her way of marking. My friend could have gotten full marks for the test. As he had a below-average presentation of answers, for every one poorly presented, one mark was deducted. Yes, one mark may seem little. However, it seems he presented every question poorly. So, one mark each for eight questions. You do the math. In the end he had only about 22/30 for the paper, when he could have gotten higher. Thankfully, she is not marking her own class' papers for the end of years. Thankfully. Else I would have killed myself. It is a pity for the other classes. Do not be alarmed when you see a '-50 marks due to poor presentation' somewhere near your score. Ahh.
